English Language Arts and College Application Head Tutor

My name is Josh Hermanson, and I am the Head Tutor for English Language Arts and college applications. After recently retiring with two decades of classroom experience teaching high school English Language Arts at the college preparatory, honors, and I.B. levels, I know first-hand the importance of individualized instruction. My approach is to listen to and understand students first and foremost, and then collaborate with them in the learning process.

Mike Bohen

Mathematics Head Tutor

My name is Mike Bohen, and I am the Head Tutor for Mathematics here at BoHerm. After leaving the computer/printer industry in 1995, I chose to enter the teaching profession. I've spent the past 28 years teaching mathematics and Computer Science at both the Middle School

and High School levels. After retiring from FHS in 2021, I've spent the past 2 years as the Middle School Dept. Chair, and primary mathematics instructor at Seashore Academy in Newport Beach. During my summers and spare time when I wasn't teaching/coaching, I've tutored students in mathematics from Pre-Algebra through Calculus. My focus with students is finding the path for THEM to best comprehend what's in front of them, understanding that there is more than one methodology that will allow students to solve problems and master their course material.

Mike's qualifications as a Mathematics Tutor include:

Over 23 years teaching in a high-performing, nationally-recognized high school.
5 years teaching Middle School Mathematics in the Public and Private School Systems
